Poem: The Military Industrial Complex Expressed as a Glorified Spigot

First published in Eye on Life Magazine

The Military Industrial Complex Expressed as a Glorified Spigot

Take a walk on Avenue J, but beware.
The hydrants are frisky.
Tired of dogs.
Tired of never being used for
their intended purpose.

Ready to start a fire if
only it gave them something to do.
A chance to play hero,
to relieve the pressure.

Leave your lighter on the curb.
Walk away.
See what happens.
